DSC09488:This is what happens to an 8 oz. styrofoam cup pulled down a mile underwater. This cup was attached to a line containing equipment for sampling water quality at the site of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. It was brought back from the Gulf by a Marine Biologist and Environmental Toxicologist monitoring the effects of the spill. The pressure has shrunk the cup to about 1.5” tall.
